In the United States, we tend to think of the Aussies as rugged individualists with little tolerance for government oppression. In that sense, we probably see some similarities between our two peoples. But as one Aussie analyst recently quipped during the evening news, the problem isn’t that Australia is peopled by folks who are the descendants of criminals and prisoners. The problem is that it’s being ruled by the descendants of jailors.
I have noticed the vast majority of my comments warning about the Covid19 bio weapon has been disappearing. I don't even take that personally any more, given conditions backlashing against even Donald in 2020.

I think that is the most important letter to take away from it all, offering a complete analysis and run down of what is going on that the media prevents the public from knowing.
I have done my part and I can proceed to the next city (or blog).
I've never removed any of your comments, Y, and I can't imagine I ever would.
ReplyDeleteI barely READ any of your comments, Y, and I don't understand them when I do. You are transmitting on a frequency I seem ill-equipped to receive.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the heirs of Australia's European immigrants: the proposition is much more scientific -- falsifiable -- than most such. 23-and-Me etc genetic testing ought to easily identify families of convicts, versus families of Royal Marines (etc).
I note that many "convicts" escaped death in the UK by claiming "benefit of clergy" that moved their trials from civil/criminal courts to church/ecclesiastical courts. The option was available only to those who could prove literacy. These folks could read. In 18th century Britain, Ireland, America, etc ... that was not a general skill. To what ever extent literacy is heritable, the Aussies today have inherited valuable genetic capital.
