When I was stationed there in the early 80s, the only Icelandic beer you could get was at the international air terminal. Beer couldn't be sold domestically due to an oversight in the law repealing prohibition. Alas, we had to drink hard liqueur off base. 😁

ReplyDeleteMy understanding is that consumption is mild during the week, but everyone pours it on for Saturday, including even young teenagers.
ReplyDeleteYou would think that beer from Iceland, with its fire and ice, would be a natural for international sales.
