Indeed- loved that it wasn't just a tossed out troll, but well considered. I also am happy to learn about the Rule of St. Benedict, of which I had not known before.
The Rule makes far more sense and is more internally consistent than most Codes of Conduct I've seen over the last 5-10 years. And you can't say that Benedict's Rule has not been tried before.

ReplyDeletedouglas - try reading In This House of Brede, a wonderful book about a monastery of Benedictine nuns. Lovely read, interesting rule.
