A Useful Reminder

  1. It may have been Trump's foot in the door for far worse scandals. A lot of skeptical voters may have had their eyes opened a bit, and may be ready to see what else can be uncovered if they start ignoring the howls of protest.

  2. It's instructive, too, to see who it is that are protesting: Leftist politicians, leftist NGOs (which as someone said can't be NGOs if they're getting money from the government), and the press.

It's further instructive to see what it is they're protesting: not the scandals that are being uncovered, but the fact of the uncovering, especially as being done by those not under their control.

It's especially instructive to see who isn't protesting: foreign governments, especially African, who weren't getting the foreign "aid" anyway.

I like the British term Quango - Quasi-non-governmental organization. It covers groups that are ostensibly outside the official government, but act according to governmental missions, with government funds.

    2. It’s a descriptive term, but remember how Britain turned out.

  3. We're on that path ourselves with DOGE, however convenient that entity might be to our wishes. DOGE bears close watching and close control.
