PS: Also remember, the crook in question (Edwin Edwards) continued the same lifestyle during that term as governor, was caught on tape passing $20K in cash (from an unknown source, for an unknown reason), losing six-figure amounts of money in Las Vegas under pseudonyms, and accused of taking backhanders from everyone from gambling interests to private prison owners. He was ultimately convicted in federal court and served 8 years in prison.
You could do worse.
