Old Fort

Report from Old Fort is that it’s not doing well. If any of you are still looking for places to help, they seem to need it. We’ve begun gathering supplies for them, but there may be better ways of reaching them from where you are.

  1. Greg,

I've marked your comments as the spam that they are, but since you'll probably come back to check, I'd like to reiterate that you aren't welcome here.

You are demonstrably wrong, also, that people don't have money to help the hurricane victims. I know this for a fact because I have just spent weeks distributing aid sent by American donors to help their fellow Americans.

People not only can do this, they are doing it, and at such a scale that the relative failure of the Federal and state governments to act has been offset.

The intent of these posts is to assist people who wish to help their fellow Americans find ways appropriate to the areas -- Blowing Rock needs tourists, but Old Fort needs coats and warm clothes because they won't have a repaired electricity structure by winter. Many people have asked me to provide them with ideas of how they can help, so I am doing that.

If you are not one of those who wishes to help your fellow Americans -- assuming, of course, that you are in fact an American and not a Russian given the amount of pro-Russian propaganda you like to spew -- that's fine. You already weren't welcome here, so it's just one more reason to please show yourself the door and never return.
