A day late and a dollar short, but he was born on 6 September 1939.


He and Willie Nelson are the last of the old crew still alive.

    I saw him at a venue in Indianapolis in 2018 or so. Confined to a wheelchair, mostly on stage as window dressing for the rest of the band. I think he only sang one song near the end of the show.
