Coyotes- I have cursed them and laughed at them. The sight of pups playing in some sawdust piles is beer-snortingly funny. The sight of two of them running down a fawn is not funny, but a reminder of natures ways. I had never realized they worked in teams before, and seeing one on the direct chase, and the other cutting the corner on every turn the fawn made was a bit chilling. There are some around here that are a scruffy little mess, and a few that could be mistaken for a small wolf or big GSD.
I watched one in the Yellowstone national park sneaking up on a sleeping grizzly to steal part of his kill. It was very clever, sly, and fairly brave to make the attempt.
