Yes, I have uncharitable thoughts about forecasters on occasion. And we need rain.
I wear my old goggles from Iraq, which are allegedly good against shrapnel as well as rain. I replaced the lenses fairly recently so they might still be good in spite of the UV exposure.
I don't mind riding in a heavy rain, if going at a moderate pace on a back road. The very worst is a light rain, on the freeway, in a mist of road gorp thrown up by traffic.

Son and DIL in Houston had a few minutes of drizzle yesterday, the first rain in about fifty days.
