UPDATE: President Biden's Education secretary says, 'Parents should not be "the primary stakeholder" in their children's education.'
Former* Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe says that parents shouldn't be telling schools what to teach.
Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, but three times is enemy action.

I never had any kids in school, so this is easy for me to say, but I never cease to be amazed by what it takes to get parents to yank their kids from public schools. How clear does the message from the educators have to be?
ReplyDeleteTexan, I think part of the problem is 1) parents don't want to try to homeschool or can't leave their job, and 2) if you are already paying taxes, adding tuition for a private school is a bite, even with scholarships. If there's a private school to attend.

PS, McAuliffe is not the current governor of VA-- from 2014 to 2018. He's trying to get re-elected this fall.
ReplyDeleteDuly noted. I thought he said that in the gubernatorial debate, and I knew that the current VA governor was a Democrat; but now that you mention it, I remember the current one is that character who was in blackface in the yearbook.
