Sen. Tim Scott's police reform bill just failed to muster the 60 Senate votes needed to proceed to a real vote. Mitch McConnell is using parliamentary procedures to get a second round attempt at getting it past the filibuster.
As has become usual, the motive is not to attain a compromise that nevertheless advances the ball; it's to prevent progress so you have something to complain about.

ReplyDeleteEspecially despicable is Nancy Pelosi: So, when they admit that, and have some suggestions that are worthy of consideration -- but so far they were trying to get away with murder, actually -- the murder of George Floyd.

Yes, those Republicans... wait, how many were there in his police department’s chain of command? Local government? State representative? Governor? Congress representation? No?
ReplyDeleteThey destroy the bridge. They won't let people rebuild the bridge. Instead they say the only solution is to offer your children as sacrifice so that the omnipotent dark god will save you from building the bridge...
