So the President is entitled to know pretty much whatever he wants to know, however, his personal attention is limited. To discover that he is personally aware of specifics from a FISA intercept is significant.

  1. It reminds me of the Clintons getting the FBI files on their political opponents, explaining that knowing about them might help with seating arrangements at state functions.

    The court held that they were entitled to whatever information they wanted - okay, maybe. But it quickly went down the memory hole, even though it should have been something the press badgered them about for a year.

    Presidents often, after JFK, was refused access to classified programs and special access programs on UFOs of all things.

    The most recent two examples are Hussein and Clinton.
