Ian Tyson was a Canadian Country musician from the '50s on. Neil Young, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan all recorded songs he wrote. Here's his most famous song:
"Summer Wages". Ian Tyson. One of my favorites- a song evoking the Pacific Northwest back in the day, as they say. Fog bound straits, tall timber and what must be a reference to 1st Ave S, in Seattle. I hitchhiked through there in 1975, and ended up staying. Commercial fishing, logging, lots of general messing about in boats, a good place for a young man - and a very conservative mind set AKA nobody was busy minding other peoples business.
Corb Lund is the wife’s favorite country/western act right now.
ReplyDeleteI remember Tyson from his Ian and Sylvia days, and was inspired to post one of those on my own site.
