Storm memento

A too-infrequent guest from Houston arrived this year with a bowl turned from a downed oak trunk that he took home with him last year.  I'd forgotten he took it, so the gift was a delightful surprise.

    Nice piece of craft- especially the rebate around the rim. Not easy to make a nice bowl like that. One slip and it is trashed.

    Indeed, quite nice. the orientation brings an interesting character to the grain.
