Nullification

NPR is very upset that Washington state sheriffs are flatly refusing to enforce a raft of new, unconstitutional gun control laws.
"It dates back to a movement from the '60s and '70s called the Posse Comitatus movement, that itself came out of the Ku Klux Klan," he says. "That isn't to say that there's a moral equivalence to the Klan and these constitutional sheriffs."
Oh, heavens no! We're just going to mention them in the same breath a few times.

Sheriffs shouldn't enforce unconstitutional laws, and if they do, juries shouldn't convict anyone of violating them.

  1. And not just Washington state- Nevada and New Mexico have most county sheriffs refusing to break their oaths.
Meanwhile the sanctimonious big city mayors and councils are all over their "sanctuary city/state" idea, that it is perfectly OK to oppose Federal Law. Even without going into a discussion of whether the law itself is constitutional, the hypocrisy is a wonderful example of the main thrust of the left, to wit, "any action we do is OK, any action of the others is wrong, even if it is the same thing.
    Like Lenin said "who, whom".

This is a different topic than your previous post , but they are definitely in the same key- all the objections and rationalizations are a smoke screen for who gets the power. What was the saying? Something about "the cause is not the cause, the cause is the revolution"? Or words to that effect.

Dates back to the Federal Fugitive Law(s) that New York and other abolitionist states nullified. The Southern Slave states and Demoncrats were not quite happy with that state's right and decided to declare independence because the federal government wasn't a powerful enough goon to enforce their laws.

Later on people told their descendants that secession was because of state rights... partially right. That it wasn't about slavery...

Like Santa Clause, the stuff parents tell children is a bit one sided.

  4. Mostly, I think these Sheriff's also wisely realize that if they've got to do door to door seizing "non-compliant" weapons, they're the ones who are going to get shot, not the folks who passed the law.

My latest analysis of the Deep State intel and strategy is that they have almost entirely given up on the idea of disarming Americans. They have no prep work prepared to blackmail or scare the Washington sheriffs, as they normally would given the number of clandestine sleeper cells available to the DS in the US theater.

The DS is also busy having a little civil war. Whoever wins that will have quite the war chest to detonate America from the inside out, whenever they choose to. Even if the patriots... not exactly a good idea for a nation to have that many "patriots" with weapons stronger than nukes that nobody in Congress is even allowed to know about let alone talk about.

While Americans are busy being distracted fighting the Leftist alliance decoy stalking horse, the real Hammer Blow will come from a different front entirely. That is just good strategy.
