Politics as Usual

The funeral of Senator John McCain was a festival of anti-Trump rhetoric, in spite of the fact that some Trump family members were in attendance. Well, that's doubtless just what McCain would have wanted. However, there is a footnote to this story that is worth knowing.

  2. I easily can look past Meghan McCain's bitterness; her father was, after all, baselessly attacked during campaign rhetoric, and her grief, quite apart from that, was and is palpable--she and her father were close.

The bitter-enders, not so much. They weren't mourning a man's passing in the slightest; McCain's humanity had no meaning at all for them. Ms McCain's father and his passing were merely tools for their personal politicking. Despicably so.

McCain has a lot to learn from his mistakes in life, even now.

He'll have to go through another pass through.
