A Banner Week for Government Competence on Guns

The USAF simply failed to inform the rest of the Federal government that the Texas shooter was disqualified from own firearms. A government-run mental facility failed to inform on the same shooter, two strikes. (H/t: D29) And now, just to make us even more certain that the government are the only ones to trust to manage American firearms, this story:
In July, Robert Manson, a unit chief in the F.B.I.’s international terrorism section, had his Glock .40-caliber handgun, a $6,000 Rolex watch and $60 in cash stolen from his room at the Westin hotel in Charlotte, N.C....

Federal law allows agents to carry concealed weapons while off duty, but not while they are intoxicated.
One begins to wonder what the overlap is, in the Venn Diagram sense, between Federal police who are "off duty" but "not intoxicated."

    The recent news definitely upsets the narrative that more laws will solve the problem of gun violence, as the current laws were not applied. At least the Texas church shooting.

    That agent should get down on his knees and thank God he ran into a harmless albeit expensive hooker and not a honeypot trap- he could easily have been snatched, and be strapped to a table shrieking, with wires coming out every orifice. What a STUPID stunt-and him in the International Terrorism Dept- what the hell does he think he is playing at? What an IDIOT. This is not about sex, or morals, or drinking, or losing a gun to prostitute- it is about the mind-boggling incompetence of a supposedly serious agent. How do his associates work with him? "Old Bob, yeah , he'll get grabbed one of these days but we know he will never finger us...or our families..."
    International Terrorism- just what the hell does he think his opponents do as a day job?

    Spec Ops and some specialized Army units know how to get through a pat down with concealed weapons. It's a good thing Bush II got most of the AQ ragheads killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Otherwise, when those skills transfer, there's not much the TSA can do about it except harass white girls and steal wine cases from white boys, while profiling them to avoid profiling MEasterners.
