True Enough

“The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented. From the Soviet Union to Cuba to Venezuela, wherever true socialism or communism has been adopted, it has delivered anguish and devastation and failure.”
Some speechwriter deserves a pat on the head for that line.

Our previous POTUS would have never uttered those words.
Trump was brief, concise, and to the point. No verbiage, no "nuance."

  4. Also, I will note that based upon reactions I've seen in social media, this is the one that stung the left the most. Oh sure, they're nominally upset that he threatened to destroy North Korea (although President Obama did the same), but their true ire has been pointed at the accusation that Socialism is destructive. That one cut them to the quick.

Socialism is a success. It enslaves humans. Southern slave lord theology and totalitarian policies were a success as well, because it promoted the enslavement of humans as chattel or cattle.

The creation and implementation of socialism by humans is not enough to explain what is going on.
