Eh, it's okay I guess for the equipment and 'feel' of it, but the story is pretty uninteresting tripe about the cost of war- makes all men bad, devolution into survival mechanisms, occasional appearance of humanity then back to work. Presents many good opportunities for looking deeper into the philosophical and moral questions of war, but avoids doing so. Perhaps that was a point- that it doesn't make sense up close- but it's not well made if so.
OK, well, based on your dismissal I watched the video. The effects are awesome, at least.
Also, I notice from the DUI that these guys are supposed to be 2nd Armored Division, "Hell on Wheels." In Iraq I knew a guy who wore that insignia on his right sleeve, one of the very last to deploy with that division before it was deactivated in 1995.
Fury is a movie with several faults. The tactics employed by the German and American forces in the movie are laughable at best, and the movie seems a little bound up in the war is hell that makes men into monsters (though with glimmers of humanity sprinkled throughout). But it's still a worthy movie to watch anyway, if for no other reason that it's the first time an actual operating Tiger tank appears in an American film (Tiger 131 from the Bovington Tank Museum in its first starring role), and the Sherman Easy8s aren't too shabby either. Give it a view sometime.
I still want to see that movie, so I'll put off watching the video. :)
