American Legion Riders Unwelcome

We are extremely grateful to all of our active military members and veterans and are honored to have them as valued guests in any of our locations.

“Our dress code, which prohibits evidence of gang affiliation, is in place to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy themselves in a fun and safe environment. Though we understand that the American Legion promotes a positive mission, for consistency reasons we cannot allow motorcycle jackets displaying patches or rockers.
Seems like there's a well-known quote about foolish consistency.

This is roughly like deciding that, since you don't like fascists, and fascists wore uniforms, you won't allow anyone in uniform to eat in your place. Boy Scouts, cops, soldiers, nuns... we have to be consistent about providing that 'fun and safe' no-uniform environment!

Morons.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds

One of Mrs Mississippi's favorite quotes

They should be honored that they would bear the cross of their Savior, on this Earth. You shall be hated by the enemies of the righteous, for that is the sign that you are on the right side.

Otherwise, if everybody likes you, then there might be a problem. The allies of the world are not the allies of the divine kingdom.

The idea that people tend to have, that baptism is their way of salvation so they don't have to suffer any more, is why they aren't worthy of any higher promotion. As in the military and its unique talk culture, the reward for a job well done is being volunteered for a tougher job yet.

Trials and tribulations are the sign that you are about to be promoted in the hierarchy of the divine. The Legion is representative of such a case, perhaps.

  3. This is what happens when people cannot be bothered to stand up for what's right.

Work with me here: If they banned gang symbols, they'd have to argue with people sometimes. People would say well, my gang is really a benevolent association. They'd be upholding a value, and as with any value, there would be some people who'd disagree with the way they defined it, and they'd have to argue. Worse, they'd have to make a decision, stick to it, and be morally accountable for it. And of course someone might sue for "discrimination" under a disparate impact theory, or something. It would require some thinking, some moral effort, and some inconvenience at times.

It's much easier to make a mechanistic rule that's not subject to interpretation or argument. Easier, but worse. It's the basis of Zero Tolerance thinking. It's why a student who brings a plastic knife to slice an apple gets expelled and has their education and future prospects damaged. It frays civil society in all kinds of ways.

But it's easier, if you're someone who can't be bothered to stand up for what's right.

  4. It's even worse than that. If the Hells Angels came into this little suburban restaurant, do you think the manager would go up to them and ask them to turn their kuttes inside out? What do you think would happen if he did? That's why he never will.

The "consistency" application means that this little rule affects the good-hearted people who will obey the wishes of the property owner. Those people, of course, are the last ones who were going to cause you any trouble to begin with.

Precisely the reason Muslim bakers and flower shops don't get sued by the homosexuals for failing to provide wedding services. When one is ready and willing to fight to defend the faith, the clan, the club, or whatever, it is seldom one has the need.

The Japanese have Yankees. They sometimes do good for the community by absorbing violent teenagers and giving them a community to defend. Their teenage gang members are called Yankees, approximately the same pronunciation if not spelling.

The Yakuza are the organized mafia families.

They help maintain law and order at the bottom, so the national, provincial, government and police forces don't have to interfere with locals. Some even were able to provide emergency organization and aid, before the federal government could react. Better human intel and organization at the bottom.

When the feds begin cracking down on gang members, while leaving their Chicago buddies alone, that is a sign that the Feds are consolidating power. In the grand strategy, it is a sign of a coming counter offensive or grand mobilization. Once they wipe out the small human groups, those will be replaced by federal goons. These will then instigate false flag ops, which allows intervention from the federal level. Russians are pretty good at this. And the Left at least tried with BLM.
