F-16 pilots: "We were on standby." Turns out there was not the refueling issue that the administration has been claiming prevented sending them, either.
Infuriating. And all the excuses- "they couldn't have made it in time," etc, etc. Not even trying suggests either a wholesale callousness to their countrymen, or a deliberate decision to Aid the Enemy in Time of War. We have a term for that.
"Stand Down, let them die" was what I said the Hussein Regime gave as an order. And more or less, it turns out to be true, even though people refused to believe it back then.

ReplyDeleteWait . . . they were lying?
ReplyDelete"Not even trying" is a misstatement, raven. They tried NOT to help. The Administration obstructed the forces who wanted to go to the rescue.
