When You Read Kindle, Kindle Reads You

A list of the most popular phrases in popular books, as determined by Kindle.

The popular Bible verse, surprisingly to me, is Philippians 4:6-7.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I would have expected it to be something from John.

  1. I have a Kindle and a Nook, which I got to check out the eBook versions of my stuff.

For my eReading, though (which isn't that much; I greatly prefer to hold hard copies in my grubby hands. It's also much easier to scribble notes in the margin than it is to use any eReader's Note facility), I use Kiindle's and Nook's free downloadable equivalents for laptop and PC (which aren't quite as capable as the eReaders themselves, but they are plenty adequate).

That also lets me download what I intend to read to my laptop and PC, and I read those downloaded copies. It also lets me download from a variety of sources besides amazon and B&N (thank you, Texan99); that stuff never finds its way into someone's records. It's harder for amazon and B&N to look over my shoulder that way.

Pretty sure they don't care what you think, as long as you buy.

  3. I think they do care what you think, in the hope of figuring out how to get you to buy more.
