Bring the UK into NAFTA?

It's not a bad idea, really.  Alliances should be based not merely on economic interest, but ideally on a shared vision.  If you're going to help make someone rich, why not someone who supports the same basic values that you do?

It would make a certain amount of sense to turn the Anglosphere into an economic free trade zone as well as a military alliance.

With an adequate supply of 55 gallon drums and sufficient lashing, not necessarily. Just ask the motivated Cubans now living in Miami how to make a 1951 Ford F1 seaworthy.

On the other hand, EU Wolfpacks might be a concern to such a flotilla.

Given the EU's performance in Libya, and its apparent dependence on American ordnance from five minutes into the campaign, maybe not so much.

  4. If we are going to invite the UK, then the rest of the Anglosphere, we could then move to the Danes and Norwegians. Expanding circles.

  5. This starts to sound like what some folks have been asking we do in lieu of supporting the UN- create a multi-national body based on nations being free, capitalist (at least in some form), and civil. If it got us out of the UN in terms of major funding, I'd be all for it.
