The autumn color is creeping in, but the days are warm and delightful (when there isn't a hurricane). For the next little while, things will be very beautiful in my part of the world. I'll try to get some photos to share with all of you.
At the time, I was thinking not so much most beautiful as best overall---including weather. In terms of "most beautiful" month overall, my childhood home of New England is in the running, but my long-time home of Texas is definitely not, though I like Texas weather in October. Gringo
We got home today. Good hiking. I hadn’t been to the Smokies before, and my wife introduced me to the park. We stopped in Mills River and had lunch at the Bold Rock Cidery. I loaded up on Premium Dry, as no one sells it in Hickory.
The trees are just starting to turn in my bit of the plains. The drought seems to have set everything back this year. It's also the biggest monarch migration anyone can recall. I counted over twenty on or around the mist flower in my front flowerbed.
The Most Beautiful Time of the Year
ReplyDeleteAgreed, but not just in your neck of the woods.

In that case if you send me some pictures, I'll post them for you to share here.

We’re going to be in Maggie Valley for a few days. I’m hopeful that they came through Isaias ok.

I imagine that they did. We had steady rain, but it was a far easier storm than Helene. It should be fine.
DeleteI’ve been as close as Waynesville since the weekend hurricane, and saw no sign of new damage.
