Golden Ring

So this is a George Jones and Tammy Wynette song.

I never liked their version, but here's a version I kind of do like.

If you only know one Tammy Wynette song, it's "Stand by Your Man," more than likely. George Jones was a difficult husband and her well of inspiration to write that song was deep. This song, which takes a love all the way from beginning to end, is probably similarly inspired.

What a duo! I have loved Emmylou since the Gram Parsons days. And Dwight Yoakum- they broke the mold on that guy. Fantastic.

On rings for men- My wife gave me a beautiful silver and gold mokume (pattern welded, essentially) ring- she wears it now as a thumb ring. The third time it got hooked on unyielding hardware with no injury, I figured all the luck was used up. Manual labor and rings don't mix well.

Yeah, you and me both. I have a wonderful wedding ring that I keep in a safe. I pull it out maybe once a year to wear it to some special occasion.
