Food on the vine

This was fun. I'd seen some of these crops growing, like pineapples and brussels sprouts, but not others.

Watch out for cashews, a little. When I was working in the Caribbean we used to pick them off the trees - they look a little like an oddly shaped bell pepper. But the nut is highly caustic - it will blister your mouth if you try to eat one raw. You have to roast the nut to render it edible. Then: Tasty! We used to do them on the BBQ at the beach.
