An accurate piece. I think she misses a trick when she claims that liberalism used to be in favor of harnessing our better natures, though. Liberalism has been about suppressing our worse natures, which is quite different.
Some of our worse natures should be suppressed, of course. that's what shared living is all about. But when our "worse natures" include being hoarding kulaks, or defending ourselves, or preferring assimilation to a shared culture, then suppression of it goes bad very quickly.
