These are not as explosive as they'd like them to be, but
they certainly are telling. Now they've gotten their first scalp, at least temporarily. I'll be surprised if 'removed from duties' translates into 'fired,' given that it's a government employee.

It'd be all right with me if they went ahead and fired the person for cause and then used the civil service union's resulting law suit to burn the union.

It'd be all right with me, too.
Seems a reasonable approach. Doesn't matter which personal agenda, using government resources to advance non- (or anti-) government agendas should be adequate grounds for termination.
