Petraeus to Launch Gun Control Group

Well, of course. Nobody's more intense about gun control than the Armed Forces.
Veterans Coalition for Common Sense to encourage elected leaders to "do more to prevent gun tragedies." The group will feature veterans from every branch of the military who are urging lawmakers to toughen gun laws, the organization said in a news release.
This group won't accomplish more than giving false narratives to the media for propaganda use. Nevertheless, that's still harmful. Sort of like "only" revealing classified information to your mistress. It's not as bad as putting it on an easily-hacked private server with no proper encryption protocols. But your country won't thank you for it, all the same.

"common sense" -people are pretty well wised up already - any time I hear a politician spout about "common sense" I run the other way before I get infected.

Labeling Bills and Organizations with inverse terminology to the actual goal has become standard to the left.

Mark Kelly's remarks are especially galling. "As service members, each of us swore an oath to protect our Constitution and the homeland." And conspiring to help a runaway Federal government violate that Constitution keeps this oath in what way?

He's vying for Clinton's VP nominee spot.

And wouldn't that be a kick: two folks at the top of the Democratic ballot who don't understand handling classified, and two folks at the top of the Democratic ballot who are well experienced with philandering.

I wonder where they'd put Broadwell.

He's crossed a line with this, and I wonder if he knows it.

Probably not. At some point the Generals all believe their own hype.

Petraeus will be to second amendment supporters what Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy are to real Catholics..... Guess it is time to buy even more ammo.

Everyone is corrupted by DC. That is the power of the capital of evil.

It's only "a" capital of evil, not "the" capital of evil. Tehran, Moscow, Pyongyang, and Riyadh also exist. By comparison to those, ours looks all right -- but only, perhaps, in that way.

Looking at all the domestic surveillance programs spread across multiple agencies, I've often thought what the US government has really been doing for the last 15 years is preparing to fight a counterinsurgency war here in the US. This does nothing to allay my suspicions.

America is The leader of the free hold. With power comes responsibility, and when that responsibility corrupts that power or vice a versa, what you have is The capital. Along with the UN. And the secondary capital on the West coast, Hollywood.

If America did not have influence in the world, or influence equal to Moscow or Tehran, it would merely be a capital. But it isn't. America is Special. Exceptional, you may even say.

You should see what the military is given as an OPFOR in military training ops in US soil. And what police officer training programs are designed against.

While military training of the police didn't begin under Hussein, some of it was happening under Bush II/Clinton/Carter as well. It has accelerated beyond most people's imaginations.

Also, normally this line of thought would be called paranoid and crazy back a few years ago. I wonder what has changed. By that I don't mean the standard of the world or of Leftists. I mean the standards of people with socio economic views similar or almost exactly the same as in the Hall here.
