It's a pretty poorly written article, that you have to pick through it to try to even begin figuring things out. My main takeaway was that a spy oughtn't be talking so much to so many people about what they're doing, or venting about their dissatisfaction with it. This guy leaked like a sieve. Given that, there were probably many possibilities for who did him in, including accidentally by a sexual partner, given his proclivities.
