Young people need to understand, according to the president, that politics determines everything in America. According to the president, politics and government even decide if there will be a job waiting when students graduate from college.
In fact, Obama isn't far wrong here, but not in the way he expects. Politics determines the size (and type) of government we have, and that has a very strong influence on whether there will be a job waiting, its type, even whether the graduate is able to create a job.
