Colombian Coup

Not that kind, the PR variety.

The latest episode of Government Bureaucrats Gone Wild!

Rated: NC-17

No admission unless accompanied by large bags containing cash.

I'll wait for more information before I comment on the conduct of the SS advance detail.

P.S. At this point, and in my humble opinion, seeing the US Secretary of State partying like it's 12/21/12 is pretty small stuff, relatively speaking.

I don't begrude the Secretary her fun; I just wonder about the propriety of allowing cameras. On the other hand... well, I kind of like Hillary Clinton anyway.

As for the Secret Service, it has apparently taken the step of revoking the security clearances of all 11 members, including two supervisors and members of their SWAT unit. That indicates something akin to a complete failure of discipline. It also indicates the end of their careers, whatever else happens.

In the military, if we encountered a total failure of discipline, we'd be looking for a total failure of leadership.

Though many do, I can't imagine you would, and I'm with you on the cameras. That said, I think there is little probability of any official, on duty or off, escaping the cameras these days.

As well it should. Such methods were SOP for gathering opposition intel in the [good?] old days, pillow talk, compromised dignity/integrity and what not...

Agreed.

Those are my memories of my time in the military and as a cleared contractor with access. Distant memories...

I also wonder about the context of the carefully selected photo. Much is being made of the overt happiness of the woman next to Clinton, as though this is symptomatic of Clinton's wantonness. I'd be more worried, though, if at a function that's designed for relaxation, the staff were unable to be happy in the presence of the boss.

As to the Secret Service and military personnel, like the rest of you I'll wait on actual evidence and trials. Although if guilty, I suggest they'll make fine investigators in the Holder DoJ.

I don't really care for Ms. Clinton. Never have. However, having been unfortunate enough to have worked for a boss very similar to hers in thought and action, I'm surprised that we don't see more of these types of pictures leaking out. I know I was driven to drink more than usual on several occasions thanks to my former boss' *peculiarities of personality*.
